I’ve had several potential purchasers that have been...interesting. One asked “will you take $500?” I replied “I was thinking of a figure closer to $1000 than $500.” Another asked if I had a cellular phone he could text for more information. I replied “unfortunately not, but I am willing to answer any questions about the car via email.” Another person emailed me to ask if the car was still available. I replied with “yes it is, do you have any questions about it?” What do all of these people have in common? They haven't replied in four days. I may have to scrap this thing if worst comes to worst.

If possible, don’t scrap. Part out.

It's difficult to find buyers for post-malaise era midsize sedan parts.

Make tons of pictures, create a detailed description, offer it on ebay. Make sure only bidders with some bidding history (or the ones you’ve approved manually) can bid. Sell to the highest bidder.

As I am in Canada, EBay is not an option.

If there’s a deadline, yes. I still say you would get more than 400$ by selling for parts, and then you get to scrap the rest, which should be 2-300$.
Take out all the easily removable/storable bits:
Grille, Sidelights, Taillights, even the sealed beams if they work. There are plenty of mid 80’s-mid 90’s GM vans still that use the same bulbs, and the reason they are still around is because the owners are so tight you couldn’t hammer a flaxseed up their ass with a pile-driver.
100-150$ from those.
Same goes for the engine (or parts off it). Many of the same vans have 305’s. Heads, carb, etc.
100-150$ from those.
SuperStockIII Rims. No idea what they are worth. Insert your own value here.
Seat belt units. Easy to store, and you’d be surprised who wants them. People want a cheap harness for a go-kart, etc. New ones tend to be worth 75-130$—go in at 30-40$ and multiply by 5.
150-200$.
Total, with the easier parts removed:
350-500$, +Rims, +scrap value of the shell.

You totally can sell on eBay from Canada. That’s how you find US buyers and sell to a much alrger audience.

Yeah, but I doubt that US buyers would want my rusty car when they could get a clean southern car.
